Shamian Island
Is crazy pretty … we’ll upload some pictures either tonight or tomorrow morning to proove it. It’s very colonial in feel with a really nice park running the length of it. This area appears to be something like the upper East side of Manhattan. As for the rest of the city, well probably the less said the better. The pollution is so bad that you can only see around 6 or 8 blocks before things just fade away. If our little Island is the upper East side, then the rest of the city would be New Jersey.

Yep…you get off the island and it goes steeply downhill in appearance. If you were to walk in a neighborhood like that in Memphis they would knife and rob you but over there it still seems strangely safe…
